Monday, May 4, 6:30 - 8 pm: Book Club: We’ll be reading "Between Sisters" by Kristin Hannah “Meghann Dontess is a woman haunted by heartbreak. Twenty-five years ago she was forced to make a choice, one that cost her everything, including the love of her sister, Claire. Tender, bitterswet, funny, & wonderfully moving, we’ll celebrate the joys & heartaches that can only be shared by sisters, the mistakes made in the name of love & the healing power of new beginnings.” Join us for some exciting discussion, fellowship & dessert. Everyone is welcome!
Tuesday, May 12 at 7 pm: Civil War Roundtable Meeting: Gene Salecker will be speaking on the Nathan Bedford Forrest Railroad Raid of September 1864. General Sherman & his huge Union army sat in Atlanta, Georgia, deep inside Confederate territory. His two railroad supply lines stretched all the way back to Nashville, Tennessee, almost 250 miles away. If Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest could make a raid into northern Alabama & cut those two rail lines, would Sherman's army be forced to abandon Atlanta & retreat back into Tennessee? Find out what happened when General Forrest took his 4,500 cavalry troopers on a raid against Sherman's vital supply lines.

Saturday, May 30, 5:30 - 8:30 pm: Pizza & a Movie: Come join in a wonderful night of fellowship & fun! We’ll be ordering Sal’s pizza & watching the Netflix movie “Remarkably Bright Creatures” starring Sally Fields. “After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working a night shift mopping floors & tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat over thirty years ago. This novel is a gentle reminder that sometimes taking a hard look at the past can help uncover a future that once felt impossible.” This was a book club read last year so we are looking forward to the movie! Everyone is invited to join us. The cost will be $10 per person for pizza & snacks. Sign up at the welcome table.
