Youth Group News

Mary Ann Proffitt

. . . to all youth and adults that helped with the two nights of Baking Buddies. At the writing of this newsletter, we have completed 1 of the 2 nights and have received great feedback from families. We’re excited to offer more opportunities in the coming months!

Youth should sign up at the welcome table to participate in any of the following activities:

Lock-in

Friday, May 4th at 5:30 pm to Saturday, May 5th at 10:00 am.

Youth will play games and watch movies. We’ll cook breakfast in the morning & then parents can pick you up at 10 am. Please sign-up at the welcome table & choose a breakfast item to bring. Please also bring sleeping bags, pillows, toiletries & snacks.J

Common Grounds

2nd & 4th Thursdays, 6:30 to 7:30 pm.

In May, we’ll meet Thursday the 10th & 24th.

This is our new high school group that meets at Le Caffé Bistro on Sunset.

This group gives our high schoolers a chance to touch base with each other, talk about life issues, world issues etc. and stay connected. There is no sign-up sheet for this, just come when you can.  Bring a friend. Mrs. Proffitt will chaperone these group sessions.

Special Olympics Banquet

Friday, May 11th, 5:30 to 7:30 pm.

The youth will help with carnival games during the Special Olympics Banquet hosted by the Women’s Fellowship Committee.  Sign-up to help!

Handy helpers

Saturday, May 12th, 8:30 am to 12:00pm.

The youth will help with simple yard work such as raking winter debris, installing screens, trimming bushes, cleaning first floor gutters, washing windows, cleaning flower beds, planting flowers, etc. for those in our congregation who may need some assistance.

Regular Youth Group Meeting &

New Members Meeting & pizza

Sunday, May 20th, 10:30am to 1:30pm.

Those who are graduating from Sunday school and their parents are invited to join us for our youth group meeting, some fun games, canvas painting and pizza.  It is a great way to get to know others in our group and get involved in all the fun!

Summer Mission Weekend

June 22nd& 23rd.

A local mission weekend is being planned for this summer.  We’ll be participating in the Hunger Task Force Stock Box packing on June 22 from 9 am to 12 pm.  We’ll need help from the congregation for this as we need 20-30 people. More events will be planned for this weekend so stay tunedJ

Regional Youth Event

Thursday, July 5th through Sunday, July 8th

Takes place at Elmhurst College in Illinois.  This event only happens every 2 years, so the youth are highly encouraged to attend.
